Quick Tip For Navy Bootcamp Recruits

A quick tip for Navy bootcamp recruits is to know your job and know it well. By your job I don't just mean the job you were sworn in with.

Right from bootcamp you will be tasked with numerious jobs ranging anywhere from mail p.o. to being in charge of making sure everyone in your section has their clothes folded and stowed correctly in their racks.

Whatever the job is, Know it and know it well. If you are in charge of cleaning the toilets then you better have the cleanest damn toilets anyone has ever seen. Get my drift?

You have to remember the Navy is pretty much a self ran organization. We don't hire janitors, or cleaners so the recruit or the lowest ranking person will be filling in those spots.

If you do these simple task to the best of your abilities it will not go unnoticed.

I myself got Sailor of the Month AND Sailor of the Quarter while working in the Geedunk aka Snackshop! My duties included supervising 4 other personnel, keeping the shelves and coolers stocked and inputing the accounting data into the computer.

Even though I was just working in the geedunk I did my work with pride and it paid off.

So with all being said whatever you navy recruits get tasked with, even out of bootcamp, know your job and know it well.
