Jon "Bones" Jones beats Rampage Jackson , UFC 135
I've never seen or even heard of Jon "Bones" Jones until I heard he was fighting Rampage Jackson at UFC 135.
Boy was it a great opportunity to see it! Jon Jones is a great and I mean GREAT fighter.
There is one thing I admire more from Jon Jones besides his excellent fighting skills.
The best attribute Jon Jones has is his persona.
If you compare the way Jon Jones and Rampage Jackson walked into the ring at UFC 135 you would have noticed their character rolls each played.
Rampage Jackson is the meanest, thuggish, bad ass motha sucka you seen. Look at him the way he stares deeply into the camera trying to be this big bad wolf. Huffing and puffing on his opponent or anyone who would try to face him.
Jon Jones on the other hand had a much more humble approach to the ring. None of that ghetto rap music , no trying to be Mr. Badass. You would think he might do some over the top things since Jon Jones is only 24 years old and has a title belt. Hell other people would be trying to land in on a helicopter with some hoes parachuting down with him.
But No. Jon Jones takes his new found fame like a smart, respectable African American 24 year old.
Jon Jones makes me proud to be half black.
I don't like to see black people get stereotyped into being thugs or just some angry gangsta mofos.
There are smart, intellectual ,educated and successful young black people who don't fit the stereotype. He is a great role model for young african americans today who too often try to use intimidation in their lives and I think it's because they don't have the proper role models like there were in the Martin Luther King days.
Now I'm not saying that Jon Jones is the Next Martin Luther King I'm just saying he is a good role model. I mean come on, the man even made a shout out to his home town telling people to donate to help with recent flooding.
J-RoCK!
