Bahrain Demonstrations Heat Up

I'm still here on this 5 month deployment in Bahrain. As you may know from watching the news the Bahrain Demonstrations are heating up. So far there have been a total of six deaths and almost 300 injuries. That sounds pretty serious considering the Bahrain Demonstrations are supposed to be "Peaceful."
Who's Involved
The people involved in the Bahrain demonstrations are Sunni's and Shi'ites. Sunni's and Shi'ites both follow the muslim faith. Their differences lie in who should have taken over the Prophet Mohammed's position as the leader of the Muslim faith after his death.
Sunni's believe there should have been an election composed of the Prophets closest companions and the one who was most suited for the job would win. The Shi'ites on the other hand believed the successor should have been someone in the Prophets family. What actually happened favored the Sunni's.
Personally, I think it makes more sense to have an election and let the best man win. I am an American. Elections are how we run our nation so I may be more open to the idea of it. It just seems to make sense. What if all of the Prophets' family were retards? It would be a shame to mess up all of those beautiful mosques by having a bunch crayola scribbling on the walls.
I know. That was mean. Just Saying.
When the demonstrations occur there is a big clash with the Bahraini police who are all Sunni. The police have been trying to stop the protestors in which force has to be applied. It has gone from tear gas and pepper spray to rubber bullets to live rounds.

The Problem
Bahrain is a Kingdom.
It is ran by a King. King Hamad. I hear he kicks ass in Halo.
Kidding.
The King and his family are all Sunni.
Great, nice to see they all get along.
The only problem is the Kingdom of Bahrain although ran by a Sunni King has only a 30 percent Sunni population and a 70 percent Shi'ite population. I know, holy Shi'ite!
The Shi'ites do not get treated as well as the Sunni's. According to my research there is a long history of discrimination against the Shi'ites. Different laws and regulations favor the Sunni's. Educational benefits and military and police employment are mentioned. Sunni's also tend to have a lot more money. Especially if you are part of the royal family.
ie King-Hamad-Halo. Just making sure you are still with me.

With this mistreatment the Bahraini Shi'ites often conduct protest called "Demonstrations." These Bahrain demonstrations are considered to be peaceful. I don't see how stopping traffic and burning a bunch of tires in the middle of the road can really be considered peaceful.I am assuming the similar issues going on in Egypt fueled the fire for the Bahrain Demonstrations. Making them more often and bringing in more supporters of the cause.
US Involvement
As of right now there has not been any U.S. involvement in the demonstrations. Not any that I know of anyways. We are being limited to different areas we can go such as malls, bars etc. Most recently they wouldn't even allow us to go to work.
Can't complain there.
You must have a liberty buddy if you are walking to base. No going out at night.
J-RoCK!

I really hate reading violent articles such as these but we must know what are happening to this world. Poor children, their minds are constantly being poisoned by the media.
I am happy because we are not having this kind of violence in our country.I guess a good communication and respect so that all are in good peace.
