Post 9/11 G.I. Bill
The Post 9/11 G.I. Bill is probably the biggest benefit of being in the military. A lot of people join the military just to receive the benefit of having your school paid for.
The Post 9/11 G.I. Bill goes beyond paying for your school.
The new G.I. Bill provides:
Full tuition including fees for any public school in-state students. If you are going to a private school or a foreign school the max the government will pay is $17,500.
a Housing Allowance - Yes, you will get MONEY for being in school! The amount of money you get depends on the location of the school you are attending. If you are going to school online or part time(less than 12 semester hrs) you get half of what you would normally get if you were going full time.
Money for books/school supplies of $1,000, paid annually.
You don't even have to be attending an actual college. You are allowed to be enrolled in technical schools or other non - college degree programs i.e. flight schools, on the job apprenticeship training and correspondence training.
