Military Gays and Lesbians Serve Openly.

As you may or may not have heard, Beginning February 19th, the Government is allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military.

This is my response and opinions on the subject.

When I first heard the idea of allowing military personnell to serve openly my mind generated an episode from FamilyGuy.

I could totally see the producers having a skit where gay Bruce is in the military running in some mini short cami shorts and saying "Haay guys, Just out for a little stroll with my new friends.' Haha.

Or maybe during boot camp. You could have the person calling out the cadence be gay and it sounding totally funny.

I am in no way opposed to the idea. I just thought that would be funny. Personally. I feel like if you want to be openly gay in the military then you should be allowed to do so.

I'm sure the military will not allow for gays to be very outspoken about their sexual preferences. I mean, you are not going to be seeing a bunch of booty shorts and makeup being worn by men. I'm not indicating that all gays wear that I am just giving you an example. So don't try to say I'm stereotyping.

We are still in the military and there is very much a dress code that will be upheld.

I wonder what it will be like when there is a very respectable person of a higher rank who comes out as being gay. I'm sure there will be instances of that. Sound like a good movie.

Allowing gays in the military to serve openly is kind of a step forward in my opinion. It is showing how the younger american influence changing our government policies. Its mainly the older generation of people that are saying hell no to the idea. Older people are afraid of change. They want to continue with the traditions of America. I understand that to a certain extent. I know America was built on its traditions and we should honor that yada yada.

You can't expect a country to use its resources to the best of its abilities by adhering to a certain list of rules and regulations that was created in the 1700 and somethings. (side note: I actually had to google:when was the constitution written. Damn our school system! haha)

I hope I haven't gotten too off tract with allowing gays to serve openly. I'm just saying I agree with it and hope everyone who is opposed to it can just say what the heck I don't care that you are gay as long as you are on the same side as me we can get along.
