The Stressers of the Navy
Work has been pretty stressful the last couple of weeks. So I am going to VENT!
We have a big " Wing" inspection coming up so everyone is trying to act extra professional and make sure we are doing things by the book. The Wing is our bosses boss. They send out Inspectors that go through all of our programs, tools, publications everything. If you do a piss poor job on the inspection our squadron can be shut down until we "Unfuck" ourselves.
I understand that peoples careers are counting on how well we do on these yearly inspections, but damn every single day a certain individual will scavenge around trying to find any and every little thing to correct us.
The other day they told us we couldn't unbutton our top halves of our coveralls anymore because it's not that hot outside. What's funny is the people who tell us things like that sit in an office all day long. We are busting our asses
outside.
For you.
In the heat.
I believe Bahrain is still considered a desert. I could be wrong. I'm no Geographer.
What is not being realized is how our morale is dwindling at a steady downward pace. Now I'm not the smartest man in the world by a long shot but I'd have to say it's not good to do that to people doing maintenance on million dollar helicopters.
I'm not asking for much, just a good job or a keep it up.
You can't hammer down on a group of people all the time and expect a good outcome. I think most people would agree on that.
Maybe I'm just being a whining son of a b with no appreciation or vision towards a greater good. After all, this is the UNITED STATES NAVY. The world's finest Navy. Hooyah! It's just hard to see that vision when your main mission over here in Bahrain is to deliver mail, passengers and cargo.
The Navy has in place a bunch of different programs and checks and balances that ensures all of its service members are doing maintenance as safe as possible.
Either way, whether we are fighting for freedom or not. Hopefully our chain of command gets off our backs after this damn inspection!
