Taking Showers In Boot Camp

Do you take showers together in Navy  boot camp?

A lot of people are always asking me about taking showers in boot camp.

Yes you will have community showers.

Don't worry!

You won't be as weirded out by it as you think. In fact, everyone is so nervous about having community showers in bootcamp that they will pretty much keep to themselves. You will learn how to take an 8 minute shower though! haha. After a while you will get used to it and feel more comfortable.

I don't exactly remember how long you had to take a shower in boot camp. It was rushed though. I would say about 10 minutes for twenty people.

Yeah I know, Hurry the hell up!

Restrooms In Boot camp

The heads(restrooms) in boot camp have more privacy than the showers. They have a little curtain that you can close to keep from others looking into your stall. Feel better?

Male RDC's (instructors) cannot go into the female heads and female instructors cannot go into the male heads. You will often hear your RPOC(Recruit Petty Officer In Charge) yell out 5 minute pump and dump! This is where everyone is given time to use the restroom. Like I said it is very much rushed.

After Boot Camp

Once you finish boot camp and get into your A School you will pretty much have your own dorm room. You''ll share the restoom with up to 4 other people. That's how it was for me. Taking showers in boot camp will be a thing of the past!

It's going to be refreshing to be able to take long showers without having a bunch of other naked people around.

Thank you for the helpful info. I think it's great all the advice you give. I will be leaving in just over 2 months for boot camp and I am currently excited for it. . . .don't know how long that 's going to last but it's still awesome. I have figured out eventhough I'm female it only takes 3 and a half to 4 and a half minutes to take a shower and yes you can acctually clean your whole body. (sorry if that was weird)
