Workouts for Navy Bootcamp

What workouts should you do before going to Navy Bootcamp

When it comes to work outs before Navy bootcamp I would have to say that it greatly depends on your physical fitness level.

If you already work out regularly or have had a strong athletic background then I think you are ready to go. Unless you are enlisted into a Special Ops program you will be able to fly by what Navy bootcamp has to offer when it comes to physical training.

Now if you are just straight up out of shape. Or better yet, ROUND is your shape , then I would get to work on your cardio, push ups and situps right away.

Instead of doing situps and pushups as sets of X amount (ex. 3 sets of 20), do 2 or 3 sets until failure. For instance, the fist set you may max out at 50 pushups. More than likely you won't be able to do 50 pushups again the second set but thats what you should be aiming for.

When it comes to running, I like to do a mixture of slow long distant runs followed by days of short runs with sprint intervals.

I would say to run for 30 minutes about 3 to 4 times a week. If you are not running at least 2 miles in those thirty minutes then you are running  too slow.

I will do a 3 minute warm up jog on the treadmill. Nice and slow at about 6 speed. After the 3 minutes I put the speed to its max (usually 11.5 to 12) and try to sprint that out for a minute. After the minute is up I jog slow (5 to 6 speed) for another minute and repeat the process until I have ran for 15 minutes total.

You should be able to get at least six good one minute sprints in there.

Don't try to over exert yourself. If you can't run at the speeds mentioned above make the necessary adjustments.

By doing sprint intervals you will burn fat and increase your 1.5 mile speed time.

Doing long slower runs will increase your stamina.

In the Navy you will get timed on how many pushups and situps you can do in two minutes as well as how fast you can run 1.5 miles.

wassup shipmate allen? i'm getting ready to enlist in the navy and have began to talk to a recruiter. i graduated back in 08 and have played baseball all my life so i'm pretty athletic. over the years since i've graduated i've kind of drank and ate my way out of shape. normally i would hit up the gym, but i've found a better way to get back in shape and if you don't mind i'd like to post a little advice. alot of people think they need to go to a gym to get a great workout and buy all this protein stuff and creatine and unless you do a ton of cardio the creatine will make you "fatter". creatine makes your body retain water so your gonna feel bloted all the time which is great for your muscles but bad for your stomach. the best workout you can do is run and mix in jogging for 30-45 mins. before you start warm up with lunges and mountain climbers. i do 3 sets of mountain climbers for a min a piece with 20 secs rest between each set. after jogging for 45 mins i do 3 sets of situps until failure mixed with 3 sets of pullups until failure. i do my pullups on doors or my lil brothers monkey bars on their swing set so utilize whatevers handy. and do the pullups inbetween each set of situps. normally i start my mornings with three sets of pushups until failure and three sets before bed. and to eat right and feel good you should eat less carbs. tuna, ham , fruits, veggies even bacon. also eat some peanut butter for protein. i like to eat cold granny smith apples with peanut butter. like i said utilize what u have and dont be afraid to experiment with things at your house to work out with.

Diggin the site nice job man! If you don't mind I like to share a little info on working out. First of all always remember to get a good stretch, that way you can prevent injuries. When I work out I try to work out the entire body. the first day I usually do my chest and back but before I work out I always stare off with about 8-10 minutes of cardio to get my adrenaline pumpin. After that I go do some lift training and then i do 30 more minutes of cardio so the fat I have can start burning and this has truly given me results. The second day I work out my entire arms. winch include the bicep triceps and forearms but before all of this I do 8-10 minutes of cardio and then instead of finishing up with cariod again its crunches. do as much as your body can handle. The third day its all about the leg muscles. I again do 8-10 minutes of some time of cardio just so you can get some blood flowing and so you can have the stamina to finish of the work out. but remember to always allow you body to rest because the body needs time to recover. So I basically do 3 day workout the one rest day and so on. As far eating habits goes try to include as much vegetables and proteins it all depend and your goals mine is to get bigger and stronger. So I try to eat right but hey shit happens and sometimes you get the graving for something sweet its ok but just try not to do it to often. I personally in the mornings is when you have to load up on carbs to make it through the day don't worry to much about the carbs because you have all day to burn them. But try not to eat to much carbs because if you don;t work them out there gonna turn into the luv handles know one loves. And o yeah i almost forgot when working out don't do the same over and over switch it up if u want to get better results and remember this "the better the isolation the better formation of muscle your going to get".So feel free to ask anyone because if your not properly doing a workout your not gonna get the result you want and you might end up injuring yourself. One last thing if you take supplement of any sort always remember to drink a ton of water and water help the body hydrate and prevents craps.
